Arrest warrant issued for Coalgate man

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of 35-year-old Adam Dewayne Cole of Coalgate.

Cole was charged Monday with lewd molestation for allegedly inappropriately touching a child under the age of 16 in May 2019.

Drug arrest

Meagon Rachel Box, 33, Atoka, was arrested November 30 on drug charges following a traffic stop on Broadway and California for no tag lights.

Offi cer Christian Minyen said Box told him she did not have any illegal drugs in the vehicle and initially consented to a search of her vehicle. She changed her mind, he said, after she asked him why he wanted to do a search. When he explained that it was due to her being nervous about the stop and her recent arrest in Atoka County, she got angry because he had checked her past history, he said.

Court records show that Box was charged November 18 in Atoka County with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. She told Minyen the drugs were not hers – that she does not do drugs.

Coal County Undersheriff Philip Magby and K9 Polo were called to the scene. After Polo alerted on the vehicle, offi cers found a glass pipe that field tested positive for methamphetamine under the driver’s seat. A second pipe, a straw and two baggies containing meth residue were found in separate compartments under the radio.

Box was arrested and transported to the Coal County jail. She had not been arraigned at press time on Tuesday.
