Funeral service for Delbert Lee White, a Coalgate resident, (was raised around the Kenefic area but lived in Oklahoma, Mississippi and Texas), was held Monday, January 23, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Atoka with Rev. Harold Brewer, Bro. Jim Lyons and Rev. Jim Noble officiating. Burial was in Center Hill Cemetery in Atoka with Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka in charge of arrangements.

Mr. White was born November 4, 1936 to James “Buck” Hilbert and Velma (White) White at Hinton, OK and passed away January 19, 2023 at Shawnee, OK at the age of 86 years, 2 months and 15 day. He graduated from Kenefic High School then joined the U. .S. Navy where he proudly served his country. Delbert worked for National Cash Register (NCR) for 25 years and was a minister the rest of his life.

He married Mary Carolyn (Dunagan) December 2, 1960 at Shallowater, TX. They celebrated 62 years of marriage before his passing. Delbert was a member of Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God in Coalgate and was affiliated with Caney Pentecostal Holiness Church.

He served four years as City Councilman, two years as Mayor at Ft. Gibson, OK, was active in the Coal County Ministerial Alliance, served as minister for Pentecostal Church of God, pastored nine churches, including Muskogee, OK, Texoma, TX, Wewoka, OK, Byhalia, MS, Centrahoma, OK, Greenville, MS, Elmore City, OK, James Crossing, MS and the last 16 years at Coalgate Gospel Lighthouse. He evangelized the rest of his life.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Carolyn White of the home in Coalgate; children, Darren White and wife Rebecca of Seminole, OK, and Teresa “Teri” Dallis and husband Ronnie of Ft. Gibson, OK; grandchildren, Miranda Dallis and boyfriend Derrick Able and Jeremy Dallis all of Muskogee, Jason Dallis and wife Blaire of Piedmont, OK, Jonathan Dallis of Lowell, AR, Robbie Rocha and wife Tina of Durant, Andrea Duran and husband Orlando of Calera, OK, Marc Rocha and finance` Brandie of Colbert, OK, Justin White of Tulsa, Leah White of Northern, CA, Lindsy Jones and husband Landon of Seminole, OK; greatgrandchildren, Austyn, Gaige, Karson, Madisyn, Hudsyn, Hayden, Ray and Dean; sister, Joyce Strickland of Caddo, OK; brother, Carl White of Arlington, TX; son-in-law, Louis Rocha of Durant, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J. H. “Buck” and Velma White; siblings, Harvey White, Gail Shaw, Lily Dove, Henry White, and James White; daughter, Lisa Carol White Rocha; brothers-in-law Bill Dove and Ed Strickland; and sister-in-law, Diane White.

Casketbearers were Grandsons: Justin White, Jeremy Dallis, Robbie Rocha, Jason Dallis, Jonathan Dallis, and Marc Rocha. Serving as honorary bearers were Bishop Joseph Mullens, Rev. Clyde Hess, Rev. Todd Turner, Carl White, Rev. James Burnsworth, Rev. Leon McDowell, and Rev. James Poulin.
