Services for Marilyn Lee Elwood were held Monday, March 29, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Pastor David Unsell officiating, assisted by Bro. Don Stanberry. Brown’s Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Elwood’s remains will be scattered at sea with her late husband, Ernie Elwood.

Marilyn was born May 5, 1950 to Richard and Dorothy (Tune) Lewis at Holcomb, MO and passed away March 24, 2021 at Chickasha, OK at the age of 70 years, 10 months and 19 days. She married Earnest “Ernie” Earl Elwood September 15, 1979. He preceded her in death on November 26, 2016. They spent 36 wonderful years together. Marilyn was a homemaker and a restaurant manager at Burger King in Redwood City, CA. She was a member of the Cornerstone Praise and Worship Center and loved cooking, making photo albums, shopping and traveling. Marilyn loved caring for older people and helping people.

Survivors include: son, Jack Ogletree and wife Becky of Chowchilla, CA; daughter, Stacey Major of Madera, CA; grandchildren, Cody Ogletree and wife Brittany of Waianae, HI, Wesley Ogletree of Madera, CA, Kevin Cox and wife Katrina of Atascadero, CA, Caleb Ables and wife Courtney of Chickasha, OK, Shane Middleton and wife Meagan of Chowchilla, CA, Amanda Ables of San Francisco, CA, Charles Major of Ada, OK, Ashley Major of Coalgate, OK, Angelica Bailey and husband Cheyanne of Ada, OK; great-grandchildren, Bentley Major of North Fork, CA, Olivia Ogletree of Waianae, HI, Ruby Middleton, Mordecai Middleton, both of Chowchilla, CA, Jeremiah Cox, Joseph Cox, Abigail Cox of Atascadero, CA; brothers, Richard Lewis and wife Owetta, Denny Lewis and wife Brenda, all of Gideon, MO; sister, Carolyn Lewis and husband Rick of Gideon, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Murle Lewis and sister, Linda Ray.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marilyn’s honor to the Cornerstone Praise and Worship Center.
