Our Sympathies extended to the families of... Paul Morgan, Jr.

Funeral services for Paul Morgan Jr., a Wapanucka, OK resident, were held Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel of Atoka with Darwin Hall officiating. Burial was in Boggy Depot Cemetery at Boggy Depot with Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Morgan was born August 1, 1944 to Paul and Velma Audrey (Johnson) Morgan at Atoka and passed away December 2, 2020 at his home in the Wilson community at the age of 76 years, 4 months and 1 day. He attended Wapanucka High School and OSU Okmulgee and later received a master’s degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He taught industrial arts, was a history teacher and also served as a counselor at Tushka and Stringtown schools. Paul proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and married Kathleen (McKenzie) February 28, 1964 in Atoka, OK. They had 54 wonderful years of marriage before Kathleen’s passing in 2018. Paul was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Oklahoma Educator Association. He was also an avid reader, enjoyed wood working, working around the place, spending time with family, reloading ammunition, raising cattle and taking trips to Branson. Paul’s granddaughter was number one in his universe!

Survivors include sons, Dale Morgan and wife Sandra and Daryl Morgan, all of Wapanucka; granddaughter, Kasi Lanell Watson and husband Bryton of Denison, TX; great-granddaughter, Galaxy Watson of Denison, TX; sister, Sue Collins of Wapanucka; brother, Dennis Morgan and wife Mary of Wapanucka; sister-in-law, Uelala Cochran and husband Oren of Atoka; nephews, Chris Collins and wife Marla of Clarita, Russell Collins of Olney, Brian Collins and wife April of Kenefic, OK, Joey Morgan of Broken Arrow, OK, Jacob Morgan of Seabrook, TX, Don Morris of Granbury, TX, and Stan Cochran of Ada, OK; great-nephew, Luke Graves of Atoka, OK; nieces, Audrey Rochell and husband Colby of Lake Jackson, TX, Debbie McKinzie of Atoka, and Nancy Chandler and husband Mike of Ft. Worth, TX; along with numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sister-in-law, Eunice Morris and husband Vernon; brother-in-law, Ueal McKinzie and wife Betty; and niece, Connie Graves and husband Troy.

Casketbearers were Joey Morgan, Jacob Morgan, Chris Collins, Stan Cochran Dan Johnson, and Mitchell Loudermilk. Honorary bearers were Bill Pingleton, Tony Potts, Jerry 0. Hall, Oren Cochran and Jerry Hall.
