Our Sympathies extended to the families of... Teresa Faye Yockey

Graveside services for Teresa Faye (Laster) Yockey, a Coalgate resident, were held Friday, January 8, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Lehigh Cemetery in Lehigh, OK with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Yockey was born November 4, 1940 to Vendel Eben and Gennie Gay (Osborne) Laster at Lehigh, OK and passed away January 6, 2021 at Coalgate, OK at the age of 80 years, 2 months and 2 days. She attended school in Andover, Kansas and was a general store owner in Marble, AR. The neighborhood children would get off the bus in the evening at Teresa’s store and stay until their parents picked them up. She was their “Mother Teresa.” Teresa started the Marble Volunteer Fire Department. She was a dispatcher, volunteer firefighter and EMT. Teresa was of the Baptist faith and loved life and people.

Survivors include her daughter, Conita Tipton and husband Charles of Stuart, OK; brother, Kenneth Laster and wife Patricia of Bixby, OK; seven grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and four greatgreat grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vendel Eben and Gennie Gay (Osborne) Laster; son, Bobbie Owen Yockey; sister, Margaret Tutton; and brother, Vendel Laster, Jr. Condolences may be sent to the
