Service Friday for Orlin Beecher Nichols, Sr.

Funeral services for Orlin Beecher Nichols, Sr., a Beggs, OK resident, will be held Friday, June 26, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Pastor Bruce Herion officiating. Burial will be in Coalgate Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Thursday, June 25, 1:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Nichols was born January 2, 1948 to William Bailey and Nima Elizabeth (Hill) Nichols at Coalgate, OK and passed away June 20, 2020 at Beggs, OK at the age of 72 years, 5 months and 18 days. He attended Ashland School through the 8th grade and graduated from Coalgate High School in 1966. Mr. Nichols proudly served his country in the U. S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War. He worked as a machinist for Fibercast in Sand Springs, OK, retiring after 40 plus years. On June 19, 2004, he married Janice Kay North at Beggs, OK. Orlin was a member of the Okmulgee County Cattleman’s Association and the Coalgate FFA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing pranks.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Kay (North) Nichols of Beggs, OK; son Orlin Beecher Nichols, Jr. of Beggs, OK; daughter, Melinda Sue (Nichols) Spicer of Magnolia, TX; step-son, Danny Gosney and wife, Melissa of Muskogee, OK; brother, James Cecil Nichols of Coalgate, OK; sister Maxine (Nichols) Coffee of Edmond, OK; grandchildren, Matthew Johnathon Spicer, Ryan Kade Hunt, William Jacob Spicer, Brycen Wayne Gosney, Tony Jackson, Piper Jackson, Jayden Miller, Calireese Sweazea and Avery Sweazea; along with many dearly loved nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Sue (Cameron) Nichols; sisters, Williamae McCall, Delma Marie Christian, Evelyne Elizabeth Kirkland, and Patricia Ann Daws; sister-in-law, Minta Nichols; brother-in-law, Joe Coffee.

Casketbearers will be Odell Rippee, Ryan Hunt, Matthew Spicer, William Spicer, Ronnie North, and Anthony Coffee. Honorary bearers will be Bob Eddings, Morris Eddings, James Pittman and Eddie Rippee. Family dinner will fol
