Service held for Mary Frances Roebuck

Funeral services for Mary Frances (Breger) Roebuck, a Coalgate resident, were held Saturday, May 28, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Brother Eddie Hogue officiating. Burial was in Riley Cemetery in Olney with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Roebuck was born March 6, 1941 to William Monroe and Annie Mae (Hampton) Breger at Coalgate, OK and passed away May 24, 2022 at Stringtown, OK at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 18 days. She attended Olney and Coalgate schools and was a seamstress at Blue Bell/Wrangler for many years. She married Franklin Leroy Strickland. He preceded her in death. Mary was a faithful member of the Cottonwood Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing at home, loved going to sporting events, family gatherings, watching her children play and loved to cook.

Survivors include her children, Robert Roebuck Sr. and wife Janie of Tuttle, OK, Richard Roebuck of Olney, OK, Glenda Hawkins and husband Tom of Wilburton, OK, Sharon Davidson and husband Howard, Walter Roebuck and wife Cindy and Gayle Anderson and wife Annie Alheyari all of Coalgate, Edward Roebuck and wife Brazilia of Lehigh, OK, Carrolla Hopkins and husband Lance of Yreka, CA and Roberta Carpenter of Kingsburg, CA; daughter-in-law, Sherry Roebuck of Lehigh, OK; sister, Teresa Gustason of Houston, TX; along with numerous grandchildren, great and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Leroy Strickland; parents, William Monroe and Annie Mae (Hampton) Breger; sons, Bill Roebuck and Henry Roebuck; grandchildren, Lamanda Roebuck and Dustin Hawkins; siblings, Leon, Odell, Carl, Monroe, Edward, Pauline, Christine, Marie and Dorthy.

Casketbearers were Robert Roebuck, Jr., Derek Anderson, Jeffrey Roebuck, Jacob Hamilton, Daniel Roebuck, and Jason Hawkins. Honorary bearers were Justin Moore, Nick Roebuck, Nick Lee, Randall Carpenter, G. W. Roebuck, Seyth Roebuck, Dakota Roebuck, Salyer Roebuck and Jimmy Lambert.
