Service held for Nancy Jean Scott

Funeral services for Nancy Jean (Bush) Scott, an Atoka resident, were held Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Atoka with Bro. Jerry Richard officiating. Burial was in Tushka Cemetery in Tushka, OK with Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Scott was born July 21, 1945 to Harvey and Reba (Mooney) Bush at Ennis, TX and passed away November 27, 2021 at Denison, TX at the age of 76 years, 4 months and 6 days. She received her GED in Ennis, TX and attended nursing school in Ennis, TX. Nancy was a housewife and also worked at the Colonial Manor for several years as a nurses aid. She married Jerry Scott September 5, 2008 at Atoka and they just celebrated 13 wonderful years together in marriage. Nancy was of the Baptist faith and was a longtime member of the Elks Lodge. She loved playing bingo, singing karaoke, dancing, painting and drawing. Nancy would go to Harmony Public School and help with the art classes. She was a very loving woman, especially to her nieces and nephew.

Survivors include her husband Jerry Scott of the home in Atoka; brother, Jacky Bush of Tushka; stepchildren, Jerry Scott Jr. and wife Salena of Coalgate, Terry Tanner of Antlers, OK and Amy Highland of Hugo, OK; brother-in-law, Joe Matous of Texas; sisters-in-law, Mary Bush, Joyce Hunt and husband, Rickey all of Atoka, Bette Price of Coalgate and Ruby Cady of Oklahoma City, OK. She was preceded in

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Reba (Mooney) Bush; husband Clyde Williams; sisters, Betty Morris, Maybelle Morris, and Helen Matous; and brother, Kenneth Bush.

Casketbearers were Tuff Wheeler, Cody Wheeler, Rickey Hunt, Eric Hunt, Jerry Scott Jr. and Josh Bush. Honorary bearers were Joseph Matous, Mark Matous, Joe Matous, Derek Matous, and Wade Gardner.
