As a man, I used to think I was pretty much just a regular person, but I was born white, into a two-parent household which now, whether I like it or not, makes me “Privileged,” a racist & responsible for slavery.

Under no circumstances should any white person say the N-word. It has been communicated to everyone that, for historically understandable reasons, that word is per se offensive when uttered by anyone who is not black. But what about the term “illegal alien”?

Memorial Day 2013 — In a different time and country, this used to be Decoration Day, when the graves of the fallen were tended, blue and gray, alike in one nation once again indivisible. Now it’s called Memorial Day – another three-day weekend, the official kickoff of summer.

Some of you may know that I went traveling this past weekend — up to St Louis ’s Missouri. It’s a long trip up I-44 and back, but I made it. Due to my old age, I took my personal doctor, Ron, and my private nurse, Pat, with me. It was a hard trip but worth it.
