KISS the Holidays

I have always liked the acronym K.I.S.S. It stands for “Keep It Simple, Stupid” and it’s a reminder that simple is better. I used to write KISS in the margin of my notebook paper when I was in college and law school as a not-sosubtle brain whack, reminding me to keep things simple.

In 8+ decades of life, my hard head has managed to absorb some truths that my momma tried to tell me all the time I was growing up. Such as: I’ve learned: That the Lord didn’t do it all in one day. What makes me think I can?I’ve learned: That to ignore the facts does not change the facts.

This year will be the 58th year since my graduation. I can still do everything I did in high school (in my mind). However, if we start playing football again there will have to be a few changes. If there isn’t one already, someone needs to start a seniors’ football league.

My own personal experiences riding passenger trains as a child were exciting. But as it was, I was more a watcher than rider. One hot July day in a cotton patch near Lula as the “Streamliner” zipped past. My Uncle J C and my brother Gerald stopped their work chopping cotton and leaned on their hoes.

My favorite story of the week is about a gentlemen named Morris.He is an 82 year-old man who went to the doctor to get a physical. A few days later, the doctor saw Morris walking down the street with a gorgeous young woman on his arm.

Murder of the Unborn America has become so morally corrupt that some who claim to be 100% Pro-Life, and participated in the First Republican Presidential Debate, seemed willing to accept murdering babies through the 15th week of pregnancy.
