Texas has a lot going for it. One of the things -- there is a lot of wealth and pride residing south of the Red River and the growth of North Texas continues unchecked. I remember back in the 1950s when I lived in a Dallas suburb and worked for a company called Chance Vaught, building jet airplanes.

A couple of weeks ago I shared an article that those of us 74 and over are now considered “old.” That was the bad news. However, there is a newer article out from Japan that now says that those of us under 75 qualify as “pre-old”. I now feel so much younger. The article read as follows . . .

Scott and Debbie are married friends of mine who raised three boys and a girl. One of their boys, Caleb, had was always saying funny things. One time Scott got a call from Debbie at his office telling him he should switch on the television to watch news about the Presidential prayer breakfast.

It is a shame that in this age of great communication systems, we failed to prevent the deaths of millions, from the now dreaded Corona Virus. Now the American death toll exceeds seven hundred thousand.

Religion. Being good enough for God to accept us. Many do turn to religion…trying to always behave and say the perfect things. So that hopefully, their holy God will be obliged to help them handle the fears and horrible problems in life.

When I was a teenager someone recommended I read The Disciplined Life, by Dr. Richard Shelly Taylor. I picked up the book and eye-balled the Table of Contents: Chapter 1, Discipline, the Key to Power; Chapter 2, Discipline, the Mark of Maturity.
