Looking Back at Year 2004: 4-H 4-H members, volunteer leaders, parents, grandparents and honored guests met on October 16 to celebrate and receive awards for the past year of 4-H club work.The meal was sponsored by the 4-H Ag Project Club and Coal County 4-H. Desserts were provided by parents.

Gregory Shane Moore, 48, a registered sex offender in Coal County, was charged January 16 for failing to notify the Coal County Sheriff’s Office that he actually lives in Bryan County and not on CR 3780 in Coalgate.

Leland Buchanan, 18, Tupelo, was arrested January 14 on multiple criminal charges following a traffic stop for defective license plate lights. The traffic stop occurred at the intersection of Chestnut Street and SH 48 in Tupelo. A female passenger was also arrested.

A probable cause affidavit filed by Coalgate Police Officer Blaine Batchelor states that Central Dispatch contacted him the afternoon of January 3 about a woman in the front lobby who wanted to make a report about a domestic violence that happened earlier that day at a Coalgate residence.
