Arrest warrants have been in effect since March 7 for a man and woman facing felony drug charges and misdemeanor knowingly receiving or concealing stolen property.The defendants are Travis Nelson, 45, Tupelo, and Charlotte Renee Ward, 35, Ada.

A Coalgate woman and man were arrested March 17 for the larceny of a chainsaw. The female, Betti Roberts, 51, has been charged with misdemeanor petit larceny in Coal County District Court. Michael Riley, a member of the Choctaw Nation, is facing charges in the Choctaw Nation District Court.

A 32-year-old New York man was arrested during the early morning hours of Thursday, March 20, after a sizeable amount of marijuana was detected in his vehicle following a traffic stop in Coalgate.

A 61-year-old Centrahoma man was charged March 12 with grand larceny for stealing a cell phone.Tupelo Chief of Police Destin Wilkerson said he was notified on March 11 at approximately 9:00 p.m. that a cell phone was stolen from the Kountry Store in Tupelo.

The Coal County Sheriff’s Office recently made two drug trafficking arrests in Centrahoma following routine traffic stops. The first arrest took place on March 9, the second one on March 12.
