Hazel Annette (Hampton) Smith, a longtime former Coalgate resident passed away September 16, 2018 at the age of 60 years, one month and 19 days, after a long illness. She was born at Colbert, Oklahoma on July 29, 1958 to Plaise and Lena “Dolly” (Hopkins) Hampton.

Joy (Patton) Steele, age 85, passed from this life on September 17, 2018 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born on February 15, 1933 to Jack Thomas and Zelma Annie (Jennings) Patton at Clarita, OK. Joy graduated from Clarita High School. She was a housewife and a loving mother.

J.O. (John) Cravens of Fittstown died Thursday, September 13, 2018 in Sulphur at age 87, six months and eight days. He was born March 5, 1931 to Lawrence and Mary Inez (Brady) Cravens in Haskell, Oklahoma. He became a resident of Ada after he married Mary L.

Funeral services for William Clyde “Pretty Boy” Paxton, a longtime Lehigh resident, were held Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Lehigh Baptist Church with Pastor Richard Magby officiating, assisted by Kelly Clark.

Graveside services for Gloria Jean (Beal) Daniel, a former Olney resident, who resided in Beggs, OK, were held Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Moore Cemetery, Coalgate, OK. Bro. Richard Magby officiated. Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate was in charge of arrangements. Mrs.

Funeral services for Justin “Pete” Troy Parker, a Coalgate resident, were held Friday, September 7, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Stonewall with Pastor Lyle Shipley officiating. Burial was in Centrahoma Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Vivian Marie Simmons also known as “Grams” was born on Tuesday October 28th 1919 in Olney Oklahoma and died on Tuesday August 14th at 12:23 AM in Costa Mesa, California.   She lived for 36,804 days and would have turned 99 in October.

Funeral services for Cairlyon Fay (Gwinn) Tucker, a longtime Wardville, OK resident, were held Monday, August 27, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Ella Mae Ward officiating, assisted by Justin McKinney.

A memorial service and interment will be held September 1, 2018 in Rochester, MI for Jack Ward, formerly of Coal-gate. A pending memorial will be held at the Wards Family Cemetery in Cairo at a later date. Jack was the oldest of 13 children born to Jack and Mae Ward.
