Graveside services for Johnnie Lee Powell, a Coalgate resident, were held Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Nixon Cemetery. Funeral service followed at 2:00 p.m. at Coalgate Methodist Church in Coalgate with Pastor Lyle Shipley officiating.

Donald Lee Sprague, affectionately known as “The Cowboy” to his family and friends from Philadelphia and “The Philadelphia Lawyer” here in Coalgate, died on January 3, 2024, at age 91.

Hal Gene Mowdy, 88, of Victoria passed into rest on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. He was born October 17, 1935 in Durant, OK to the late Charle W. Mowdy and Mary E. Bell Mowdy. Hal was a long-time resident of Victoria for over 46 years after moving from California.

Retired airline pilot, Billy “Bill” Joe Branom, 91 of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma soared up to heaven on December 24, 2023, after a bout with cancer. Bill was born to Sherman Bland Branom and Ruby Elizabeth (Dobson) Branom, in Lehigh, Oklahoma on June 3, 1932.

James “Skip” Arnold Ledbetter Jr. of Ardmore, Oklahoma, passed away on December 23, 2023. Skip was born on September 7, 1950, in Coalgate, OK to James Aubrey and Lovie Mae (Burleson) Ledbetter Sr. His first job was at the local Standridge Filling Station.
