Doris Marlene (Mixon) Awtrey, a longtime Lane, OK resident, passed away October 3 , 2022 at Calera, OK at the age of 88 years and 18 days. She was born September 15, 1934 to John E. and Elta (Gillham) Mixon at Maud, OK. Doris graduated from Atoka High School and then went on to attend SOSU.

Bonna Deen (Mayes) Freeze, age 89 of Goldsby, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022. She was born October 3, 1932 in Coal County, OK, the middle of three children born to Joe Lee Mayes and Stella Fay (Hart) Mayes. She started school in a two-room schoolhouse at Lone Oak.

Martin David Brown, age 78, an Olney resident, was born on March 18, 1944, to Herbert A. and Alice Martha (Williams) Brown, at Olney, OK. Martin passed away on October 1, 2022.He attended Olney School. Sixty years of fixing things earned him the reputation of one of the best mechanics around.
