Funeral services for Alica Jean (Dority) Lowe, a Tupelo resident, were held Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Bro Lonnie Smith officiating. Burial was in McCarty Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lowe was born November 2, 1962 to Evert David and Nellie Mae (Ellison) Dority at Coalgate and passed away July 28, 2021 at Tupelo, OK at the age of 58 years, 8 months and 26 days. She attended Cottonwood and Coalgate Schools and was a homemaker. Alica was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed playing dice games and doing seek and find puzzles. She like watching TV and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Jason Ellis and wife Aundrea of Stringtown; daughter, Stormy Halsey and husband Josh of Tupelo, OK; grandchildren, Chase Ellis, Haven Hogue, Jay Hogue, Cloey Halsey, Rhilee Convert and CJ Ellis; sisters, Linda Franks and husband James of Coalgate, Sherri Harkins of Tupelo and Edith Clayton of Coalgate; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Evert David and Nellie Mae (Ellison) Dority; brothers, Gary Dority and James Dority and son, Alton Lowe.

Casketbearers were Jay Hogue, Chase Ellis, Aiden Aidensharkins, Rhilee Covert, Steve Byrd and Jonathan Ellis. Honorary bearers will be Billy Harkins, Danny Franks, Josh Halsey and David Ellis.
