Amanda Faye MacArthur

Amanda Faye (Gamel) MacArthur, a Quapaw resident, passed away April 19, 2023 at Tulsa, OK at the age of 43 years, 7 months and 22 days. She was born August 28, 1979 to Billy Ray and Sarah Elizabeth (Casey) Gamel at Ada, OK.

Amanda graduated from Coalgate High School in the Class of ‘97.

She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education at East Central University.

Amanda was a Computer Science Teacher at Quapaw High School. She married Robert J. Milam MacArthur September 17, 2021 at Quapaw, Oklahoma. She enjoyed reading, hiking, camping, fishing and shopping and loved the outdoors.

Survivors include her husband, Robert J. Milam MacArthur of the home in Quapaw, OK; children, Sierra Johnson and fiance’ Logan Nelson of Waldron, AR, Kailee Caldwell, Stetson Caldwell, both of Quapaw, OK; step-daughter, Annisten MacArthur of Quapaw, OK; father, Billy Gamel of Coalgate; siblings, Tina Moore and husband Walter of Atoka, Bryan Gamel of Ada, OK and Laura Gamel and husband Adam Tascher of Coalgate; sisterin- law, LaDonna Forester of Lane, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother Sarah Elizabeth (Casey) Gamel; maternal grandmother, Nettie Casey and cousin, Mechelle Stonecipher.

There is no service scheduled at this time.
