Autumn Fritz and Michael Moralez named Tupelo homecoming queen, king

Tupelo High School seniors Autumn Fritz and Micheal Moralez were named the 2019-2020 homecoming queen and king during a coronation ceremony held January 17, 2020 in the school gymnasium.

Other members of the royal court included seniors Olivia Gutierrez and Tye Gould; juniors Breonna D’Aguanno and Ty Bourland; junior Shalyn McCollum and senior James Beach; flower girl Payzlee Hamer; and crown bearer Slade Sanders.

Autumn Fritz is the daughter of Crystal Fritz of Coalgate and Johnny Fritz of Bethel Acres. She is the granddaughter of Kathy and Earnest Dutton of Coalgate and Gail and Darby Harjo of Bethel Acres.

Autumn has lettered in softball for three years and basketball for four years. Her future plans are to attend East Central University and obtain her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Micheal Moralez is the son of Tonya and Frankie Wallace of Coleman and the grandson of Faye Winningham and the late Harold Winningham of Wapanucka.

Micheal has lettered in basketball for four years and baseball for one year. He plans to attend Murray State College for two years and then transfer to Southeastern to get a degree in Safety.

Olivia Gutierrez is the daughter of Stephanie Bogle of Lula and Adolfo Gutierrez, Jr. of Lula. She is the granddaughter of John and Becky Bogle of Lake Texoma and Vernita and Adolfo Gutierrez, Sr. of Lula.

Olivia has lettered in basketball and cheerleading for three years and FFA for four years. She plans to attend East Central University to complete her basics and then continue her education at the University of Oklahoma to become a pediatrician.

Tye Gould is the son of Brad and Michelle Gould of Tupelo and the grandson of Elaine Wilson of Ada.

Tye has lettered in baseball for four years and basketball for two years. His future plans are to travel and work as a welder.

Breonna D’Aguanno is the daughter of Kallie and John D’Aguanno of Tupelo. She is the granddaughter of Karen Carpenter and the late Kenny Carpenter of Kingston and the late Norrene and Billy Jo D’Aguanno of Tupelo.

Breonna has lettered in softball, basketball, and FFA for three years.

Ty Bourland is the son of DeeDee and Todd Bourland. He is the grandson of Keary and Delores Davidson of Tupelo and Phillip and Lori Guinn of Lehigh.

Ty has lettered in baseball and basketball for three years. His future plans are to attend college and become a safety consultant. Shalyn McCollum is the daughter of Rachael and John MCollum of Coalgate. She is the granddaughter of Benny and Cheri Ward of Coalgate and Naomi McCollum and the late Patrick McCollum of Coalgate.

Shalyn has lettered in softball and basketball for three years. Her future plans are to attend Murray State College and become a physical therapist.

James Beach is the son of Larry and Rebecca Beach of Tupelo. He is the grandson of Wanda Christian and the late Gilbert Christian, and Ray McCoy and the late Linda McCoy.

James has lettered in baseball and basketball for four years. He plans to attend Murray State College for two years and then transfer to Southeastern to get a degree in Safety.

Payzlee is the daughter of Timmy and Lyndsay Hamer of Coalgate. She is the granddaughter of Gabe and Julianne Daffern of Olney; Sheryn Sanders of Tupelo; Billy and Mikki Hamer of Coalgate; and Leona Hensley of Tupelo.

Slade is the son of Josh and Lauren Sanders and the grandson of Joyce Sanders and the late Kenneth Sanders of Tupelo and Velena and the late Michael Hopkins of Dallas, TX.
