Funeral services for Barbara June (Hampton) Cameron-Stuart, a McAlester resident, was held Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Coalgate First Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Lewis officiating. Family night was Friday evening 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and burial was in Moore cemetery in Clarita. Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Cameron- Stuart was born on July 27, 1954, to Charles Loy and Valencia Mae (Davidson) Hampton, at their home in Olney, Oklahoma. She passed away on July 21, 2025, at Ada, Oklahoma, at the age of 70 years, 11 months and 24 days. Barbara attended Olney School. She spent the first half of her life married to Fred Hall and together they raised their children, Jim and Sandra. But not just their children, Barbara took in many children and loved them like her own. She later married Gordon Cameron-Stuart on June 23, 1981, at Vernon, Texas. They were blessed with 29 years together before his passing on February 3, 2011. She worked various jobs through the years from being a counselor at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary where she helped inmates reacclimate into society, to getting her CDL and driving a truck all over the U.S. She managed several EZ Mart stores in McAlester, managed the Greyhound Bus Station in McAlester and also owned and operated the cab company in McAlester before her retirement.

Barbara was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Dream City Church in McAlester. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, watching crime TV and wrestling. Of all the jobs she ever had, babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren was her greatest pleasure.

Survivors include her children, Jim Hall and wife Joni of Krebs, OK and Sandra Hall of McAlester, OK; grandchildren, Bobby, Lily, Emily, Liz, Mina and Adrian; great-grandchildren, Bruce, Pheebe, Jason and Tori; brothers, Ronnie L. Hampton and wife Dana of Cottonwood, OK, David Hampton of Marlow, OK, Bill Hampton of Jerusalem, AR and Frank Hampton of Lindsay, OK; along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Fred Hall and Gordon Cameron- Stuart; parents, Charles Loy and Valencia Mae (Davidson) Hampton; Sister: Rosalie Flores; and brothers, Laverne Hampton, Richard Hampton, Jimmie Hampton and Mike Hampton. Casketbearers were John Hampton, Keith Hampton, Todd Coats, Larry Jones, Mack Stringfellow, and Robert Hampton. Serving as honorary casketbearers were Bobby Hall- Thompson, Adrian Jones, Jeremy Heskett, Grady Young, James Cameron-Stewart, Josh Latham, and Leon Sides.
