Funeral services for Brenda Wadene (Reeves) Humphrey, a long time Coalgate resident, were held Monday, June 9, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Bro. Eddie Hogue officiating. Burial was in Humphrey Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate.

Brenda was born on April 11, 1955, to Wade Washington and Lura Merle (Reger) Reeves, in Pampa, Texas. She passed away on June 6, 2025, in Edmond, Oklahoma, at the age of 70 years, 1 month and 26 days. Brenda attended schools at Pampa, Texas and Coalgate, graduating from Coalgate High School. She was a clerk at the Palace Drug Store for several years where she made many friends. Brenda married Jimmy Don Humphrey on December 9, 1972, at the First Baptist Church in Lehigh, Oklahoma. They built a beautiful family in the 52 years they were blessed with. Brenda was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Pampa, Texas. She enjoyed doing crafts, especially cross stitch and sewing. Brenda liked collecting vintage and antique items. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Don Humphrey of the home in Coalgate; daughters, Jennifer Chairez and husband Mike and Jamie Humphrey, all of Coalgate; grandchildren, Baylin Bartlett and husband Brandon of Mustang, OK, Bradon Lawson and Kristen Robinson of Durant, OK and Austin Humphrey-Hernandez and wife Taylor of Hobbs, NM; greatgrandchildren, Brooks Bartlett, Emersyn Bartlett, both of Mustang, OK and Keizer Lawson of Durant; brothers-in-law, Donald Smithers of Houston, TX and Ronald McDaniel of Ada, OK; sister-in-law, Karen Reeves of Lefors, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wade Washington and Lura Merle (Reger) Reeves; sibling, Merle Smithers, Nancy McDaniel, Doug Reeves, Charlene Wright and Sandra Reagan.
