Carolyn Ann Reed

Graveside services for Carolyn Ann Reed, a Coalgate resident, were held Friday, July 25, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Cairo Cemetery with Pastor David Unsell officiating. Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate was in charge of arrangements.

Carolyn was born on March 21, 1952 to John Wilbur and Sybil Louise (McCurry) Davis at Ada, OK and passed away July 22, 2025 at Coalgate at the age of 73 years, 4 months and 1 day. She graduated from Coalgate High school with the Class of 1970. Carolyn worked as a waitress at the Chuck Wagon Cafe and as a grocery clerk at Sonny’s Grocery and Market. She enjoyed puzzles, mowing and tending to her garden and flower beds.

Survivors include her sons, Kevin Shores and wife Sarah, Shannon Cottrell and wife Mia, and Johnny Joe Sandmann and wife Tara all of Coalgate, OK; grandchildren, Amelia, Elizabeth, and Julia Sandmann of Coalgate, Austin Shores and wife Bree of Wewoka, OK and Tyler, Kase and Kegan Shores of Coalgate; greatg randchildren, Maverick and Addison Shores of Wewoka, OK; sister, Phyllis Kay Sirman and husband Kenneth of McAlester, OK; nephew, Bryan Ledbetter and wife Sharla of Sapulpa, OK; and niece Melinda Harden of Spirit Lake, ID.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Wilbur and Sybil Louise (McCurry) Davis.

Casketbearers were Rick Guinn, Kevin Parry, Ronnie Lambert, Brad Thomas, Shane Allen and Kelly Sandmann.
