Convicted sex offender arrested for failure to

register

Rockland Lee Weber, 38, Lehigh, was arrested December 13 for failure to register after the Sheriff’s Office learned the man allegedly was staying at a residence in Centrahoma.

According to Deputy Nicholas Davis’ probable cause affidavit, Weber is registered at a Lehigh address. Online records show his residence as Tupelo.

Davis said after three attempts to make contact with Weber, he found him at the Centrahoma residence the morning of December 13 and placed him under arrest. Weber said he had spent one night in Centrahoma.

During his initial court appearance on December 16 without an attorney, the Court entered a plea of not guilty on Weber’s behalf and set bond at $15,000. He is scheduled for a January 9 court appearance.

Weber was convicted of aggravated possession of child pornography in 2012 and sentenced to five years in the state penitentiary.

Drug arrest

Jimmy Lee Lanham, 36, Okay, OK, was arrested the night of December 12 after marijuana was found in his vehicle during a traffic stop.

Deputy Austin Golden said he stopped Lanham’s vehicle near Broadway and Taylor Streets in Coalgate for an expired tag.

After issuing a warning for the traffic infraction, Golden asked Lanham if he had anything illegal in his vehicle. Lanham told him he had “some weed from the dispensary in the door pocket.” Golden found three plastic cylinders containing a green leafy substance that field tested positive for marijuana.

Lanham was placed under arrest and transported to the Coal County jail. He was released on bond but failed to make a December 17 court appearance. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
