Graveside service for DW Sikes, age 89, a lifelong Atoka, OK resident were held Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Green Meadows Cemetery in Atoka with Bro. Claude Lovett officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka.

Mr. Sikes was born February 8, 1936, to Dolph and Eva Mae (Wimmer) Sikes, at Shawnee, OK and passed away October 9, 2025 at Atoka, OK. He graduated from Shawnee High School. DW was the owner of Rays Diner for 25 years. He proudly served his country in the Military.

DW married Betty Lou (Harper) March 18th, 1995 at Shawnee, Oklahoma. He was a former member of the First Baptist Church and was a self-made carpenter, and could build or fix anything. DW enjoyed his cattle, made sure to never miss any of his grandkids events, and loved spending time with them. A devoted fan of OU football and softball, the Kansas City Chiefs, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Texas Rangers, he could always be found cheering on his favorite teams. He enjoyed a good baseball game, a thrilling rodeo, watching westerns, and never missed the Price is Right.

DW is survived by his daughter Sindy Newberry and husband Jeff of Atoka, OK; grandsons, Cody Newberry and wife Jeanne of Coalgate, OK, Brandon Newberry and wife Kelsey of Caddo, OK; greatgranddaughters, Emma Newberry of Coalgate, OK, Layni Newberry of Caddo, OK, Rainey Davidson of Coalgate, OK; great-grandsons, Callen Newberry of Coalgate, OK, Hunter Davidson of Coalgate, OK, Briar Davidson of Coalgate, OK and sisters, Viki Donahoo of Chickasha,OK, and Ann Armitage, of Tecumseh, OK.

He was preceded in death by his parentsl; his wife Betty Lou (Harper) Sikes; 7 siblings; fatherin- law, Ray Dorris and motherin- law, Thelma Dorris.

Casketbearers were Jeff Newberry, Cody Newberry, Brandon Newberry, and Curtis Southern.
