Posted in:

Harvey Lou Pebworth, age 82, passed away the evening of Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at the Mary Hurley Hospital in Coalgate, Oklahoma. He leaves behind his children, grandchildren, friends, his brother Lonnie Pebworth, and his sister Trudy Conrad. Born in Oklahoma to Juanita and Lonnie Z. Pebworth, he considered Coalgate, Oklahoma his hometown. In his early years, Harvey worked for the family logging company.  Later he became an over-the-road truck driver.  He retired in Missouri after over 30 years of driving.  Upon retiring he traveled, living in Arizona and in California for a while before settling again in his hometown. As a lover of book reading, Harvey built quite a collection of books over the years.  He also enjoyed his time at the Coal County Library and treasured the friendships he made. Harvey liked fishing, drawing, photography, and listening to music, but his most-loved hobby revolved around race cars.  He began racing and building cars at an early age, and as he grew older he loved to tell the stories of days at the track with his brother and friends. Harvey lived a full life and will be missed.
