Funeral services for Howard Dale Powell, a Lehigh resident, were held Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Pastor John Kinsey officiating. Burial was in Lehigh Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Powell was born November 2, 1958 to Howard Glen Powell and Vera Geraldine (Evans) Fritcher at Coalgate and passed away December 6, 2023 surrounded by the ones he loved at his home in Lehigh at the age of 65 years, 1 month and 4 days. He attended schools in Lehigh, Olney, Coalgate and Atoka. Dale served in the U. S. Marines and was a truck driver for many years. He married Paula Rene Livingston on February 29, 1992 at Lehigh. They celebrated 31 years together before his passing. Dale enjoyed fishing, going to the casinos and riding Harley motorcycles His favorite times were spent with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Paula Rene Powell of the home in Lehigh; sons, Chad Barnett and wife Brandy of Olney, Justin Barnett and wife Debra of Ohio, Dale Powell and wife Brooklyn of Coalgate, and Dakota Powell and wife Grace of Lehigh; sisters, Kathy McCain of Henrietta, OK, Becky Brown and husband Dewayne of Kiowa, and Tina Fritcher of Lehigh; brotherin- law, Allen Livingston of Atoka; sister-inlaw, Sue Patti of Longview, TX and Herma Hargis and husband Darrell of Boley, OK; sixteen grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dearly loved friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Glen Powell; mother Vera Fritcher; granddaughter, Katyn Powell; brother, Delbert Powell; sister, Linda Powell Carter; niece, Billy Deann Powell; in-laws, Norman and Mattie Livingston; and brothers-in-law, Lawrence Livingston and Jeff Livingston, Casketbearers were Gary Powell, Jason Gibson, Cody Gibson, Ryan Morrison, Brandon Morrison, Kyle Stowe, Bradley Stowe and Casey Stowe. Honorary bearers were Jeremiah Golden and Colin Livingston.
