James Earl Eddings

Funeral services for James Earl Eddings, a Coalgate resident, were held Friday, September 16, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Gary Coffee officiating. Burial was in Coalgate Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Eddings was born April 1, 1944 to Newell Albert and Ella Mae (Phillpots) Eddings in Coalgate, OK and passed away September 13, 2022 at his home in Coalgate at the age of 78 years, 5 months and 12 days. He graduated from Coalgate High School in the Class of ‘63 and married Bonnie Wolfe November 15, 1965 at Coalgate. James was a pipeliner and a rancher. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and ranching. His favorite times were spent with his grandkids.

Survivors include his wife Bonnie Eddings of the home in Coalgate; children, Jimmy Eddings and wife Lisa and Bobby Joe Eddings all of Coalgate; grandchildren, Jasmine Stowe and husband Kyle and Laci Brinkley and husband Scott, all of Coalgate; great-grandchildren, Bryson and Arlis Stowe and Kylie Eddings and Holden Brinkley all of Coalgate; brothers, Newell Archie Eddings, Morris Eddings and wife Linda and Bob Eddings and wife Marie all of Coalgate; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Newell Albert and Ella Mae (Phillpots) Eddings and sister, Minta Nichols.

Casketbearers were Scott Binkley, Kyle Stowe, Wesley Eddings, Jeremiah Golden, Michael Eddings, and Dakota Spears. Honorary bearers were Frank Sells, Roy Rogers, Bob Cody, Steve Cody, Jim Coffee Cindy Byrd and Lisa Kardokus.
