Jeffrey “Shorty” Pope

Graveside services for Jeffrey “Shorty” Pope, Jr. were held Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Riley Cemetery in Olney, OK. Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate was in charge of arrangements.

Jeffery was born January 14, 1994 in Stockton, California and passed away recently in Austin, TX at the age of 30. Jeffrey grew up in Coalgate where he learned to work on cars with his brother. He loved to hunt, fish, and shoot guns. Jeffrey was a marksman like no other.

Survivors include his children, Kaydence Hogan, Kayson Pope, both of Antlers, OK, Talon Standridge of Tulsa, OK and Kyizer Pope of Antlers; father, Jeffrey Pope and wife Shannon of Coalgate, OK; mother, Melody Self of Stigler, OK; siblings, Terry Pope and Kindell Savoie of Coalgate, Krystal Orpi of Tulsa, and Kenzie Winters of Durant, OK; grandparents, Lee and Dean Self of Enterprise, OK and Terry and Stella Vick of Eufaula, OK; aunt, Kris Turner of Coalgate; cousins, Josh Turner of Tupelo and Shelby Logue of McAlester, OK; along with countless aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Erma Vick and uncle, Jerry Turner.

Casketbearers were family and friends.
