John Joeseph Crowley

Funeral services for John Joseph “Joe” Crowley, a longtime Atoka resident, were held Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Atoka with Bro. Jay Willoughby officiating. Burial was in Green Meadows Cemetery inAtoka with Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Crowley was born September 13, 1938 to Paul Revere and Anna Ruth (McKaskle) Crowley at McAlester, OK and passed away June 17, 2025 at his home in Atoka, OK at the age of 86 years, 9 months and 4 days. He attended Atoka Schools and later SOSU graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Technology. Joe met the love of his life, Sue Ann (Dandridge) at the Atoka Movie Theatre and married her December 7, 1963 at Harmony Baptist Church in Atoka County. They celebrated almost 62 years of marriage. Joe began his career as an auto mechanic and later went to work at the Army Ammunition Plant, retiring after 30 plus years of service. Over the years he owned several businesses in Atoka, The Atoka Donut Shop, Laundry Mat, Dairy Queen and Joe’s Gun. Joe was a published author, lover of anything antique, fixer of all things and the families own keeper of all the things. A love for his beloved cat Fred (multiple), avid arborist and bird watcher, sipper of Spiked Sprite Zero and lover of Cheez Its. Joe was a teacher of many things.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Ann Crowley of the home in Atoka; sons, Rob Crowley and wife Cyndie of Ada and Paul Crowley and wife Alice of Pauls Valley, OK; grandchildren, Carleigh Dyer and husband Tanner, Maci Neal and Robert Riley, Hunter Crowley, Charlee Crowley, and Damon Eden and wife Lacy; great-grandchildren, Hux Dyer, Harland Dyer, Hendrix Dyer, Cooper Riley, London Eden, Jentry Eden, Paxton Jo Eden, along with other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, P. R. and Anna Crowley; sister, Nell Williams and cousin, Johnny Davis.
Casketbearers were Rob Crowley, Paul Crowley, Boggy Crowley, Tanner Dyer, John Keith Selby and Chris Graham. Serving as honorary bearers were Tony Parker, Harry Farris, Ronnie Cochran, Frankie Hunt and Morris Cochran.
