Graveside services for Joy Ann (Darling) York, an Atoka, OK resident, since 1950’s, was raised in Antlers, OK, were held Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Green Meadows Cemetery in Atoka with Wade Boyd officiating. Services were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka, OK.

Mrs. York was born January 30, 1937 to Webb Tyler and Mary (Harrison) Darling at Lehigh, OK and passed away February 11, 2024 at Coalgate at the age of 87 years and 12 days. She graduated from Antlers High School and married Floyd Mills with whom she had her four children. He preceded her in death. She later married James “Jim” Clifford York October 8, 1976 at Atoka. He also preceded her in death. Joy was a bus driver for INCA and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness. She enjoyed playing dominoes and being with her family.

Survivors include her sons, David Mills, Tim Mills, both of Atoka, Anthony Mills and wife Sheila of Caney, OK; daughter, Tamera Mills of Coalgate; grandchildren, Brandy Mills Dunn of Jones, OK, Jason Holland of Midwest City, OK, Justin Holland of Los Angeles, CA, Ashley Mills of Atoka, and Marcus Mills of Durant, OK; five great-grandchildren, Zachary Holland of Kingston, OK, Sidney Dunn of Jones, OK, Mathia Mills, Megan Mills, Mace Mills all of Durant, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Webb and May (Harrison) Darling; husbands, Floyd Mills and Jim York; sisters, Sue Lovett and Hazel Lovett; and brothers, Morris Darling and Johnny Darling.
