Funeral services for Lois Evelyn (Horn) Alexander, a Centerpoint, OK, resident, (lived in and around Wichita, KS for 13 years and came back to Atoka County in 1964), were held Sunday, June 11, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Atoka with Minister Floyd Kaiser officiating. Burial was in Darwin Cemetery in Darwin, OK with Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Alexander was born June 22, 1932 to James and Chloe (Hargrove) Horn at Centerpoint, OK and passed away June 7, 2023 at her home in Centerpoint, OK at the age of 90 years, 11 months and 16 days. She attended Centerpoint School and Atoka High School and married James William Alexander on March 23, 1948 in Paris, TX. They celebrated 65 1/2 years of marriage before his passing on July 4, 2014. Lois was a seamstress for Blue Bell and was a housewife and homemaker. She was a member of the Farris Church of Christ and loved gardening, painting, working puzzles, wild life, hunting, fishing and any outdoor events.

Survivors include her children, JamesL.AlexanderofCenterpoint, and Brenda Murray and husband Larry of Ardmore, OK; grandchildren, Amy Alexander, Jamie Alexander, both of Lane, OK, Jody Benefield of Ardmore, Thomas Benefield and wife Daydee of Atoka; ten great-grandchildren; four great-greatgrandchildren; sister Ernestine Jeffery of Hugo, OK; sister-inlaw, Floye Horn of Centerpoint; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and love friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Chloe (Hargrove) Horn; husband, James William Alexander; brothers, Jerry Horn and Edward Horn; and sisters, Ruby Herring, Sue Creel, Jewel Horn and Elsie Johnson.

Casketbearers were Jody Benefield, Thomas Benefield, Jamie Alexander, Zac Pursiville, Justin McBride, and Glen Horn.
