In Memory of James “Skip” Arnold Ledbetter

James “Skip” Arnold Ledbetter Jr. of Ardmore, Oklahoma, passed away on December 23, 2023. Skip was born on September 7, 1950, in Coalgate, OK to James Aubrey and Lovie Mae (Burleson) Ledbetter Sr. His first job was at the local Standridge Filling Station. He graduated from Coalgate High School in 1968 and then went to work at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant. In 1970 he went to Boot Camp for the U.S. Navy until medically discharged. Soon after the Navy, he started his 43-year career with Ethan Allen Distribution Center in Atoka, Oklahoma. He started in the warehouse and retired as Manager.

Skip loved to bowl, dance, fish & hunt. He especially loved spending time at the cabin with his son, Bryan Ledbetter, and his close friends, Larry McCurry and Mike Jones. He was the sweetest, most soft-hearted man you would have ever met. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his current spouse, Glenda (Meeks) Ledbetter of Ardmore, Oklahoma. Brother Eddie Ledbetter of Wewoka, Oklahoma. Two children, Bryan Ledbetter of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and Melinda Harden of Spirit Lake, Idaho. Four grandchildren, Madison Cook, Avian Ledbetter, Abby, and Breyanna Harden.

He is preceded in death by his parents James Aubrey and Lovie Mae (Burleson) Ledbetter Sr., his paternal grandparents Gary Edward & Margaret H. (Williamson) Ledbetter, and his maternal grandparents, Walter Houston & Theo Doshia Mae Ernest Burleson.
