Our Sympathies extended to the families of... H.D. Cagle

Graveside services for HD Cagle, Sr. were held Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Coalgate Cemetery with Pastor Eddie Hogue officiating. Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Cagle was born January 8, 1928 to John and Jewel Hodgie (McNutt) Cagle in Coal County, OK and passed away November 16, 2020 at Coalgate at the age of 92 years, 10 months and 8 days. He attended McCarty and Salt Prairie Schools and worked at GSI as a superintendent seismic driller. He owned and operated an APCO full service gas station and was a rancher. HD was a member of the Cottonwood Baptist Church and loved horses, listening to Tradio and country music. He enjoyed horsetrading and worked for Coalgate DHS driving people to doctor appointments.

Survivors include two sons, HD “Butch” Cagle, Jr. and wife June of Mt. Home, AR. and Danny Cagle and wife Karen of Rapid City, MI; grandchildren, Johnny Joe Cagle and wife Theresa, Donavan Cagle and wife Janie, Shannon Cagle, and Crystal Cagle; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; special nieces, Mary Jean Carter and husband, Leon of Coalgate, Carol Evans and husband Wess of Bray, OK and Evelyn and Sharon; special friend and domino partner, Geraldine Davis; along with other relatives and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Daniel and Jewel Hodgie (McNutt) Cagle; wife, Betty (Hartley) Cagle; brothers, Johnnie Cagle and Alvin Cagle, Sr.; and sisters, Jewel Morrison and Lillian Bagley.

Casketbearers were grandsons and great-grandsons. Honorary bearers were Larry Davis, Ronnie Davis, Tanner Davis, Trevor Davis, John Cain and Kevin Hitchcock. Condolences may be sent to the fam
