Our Sympathies extended to the families of... Jamie Duane Ellis

Funeral services for Jamie Duane Ellis, a Tupelo resident, will be held Wednesday, (today), January 13, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Bro.Tony Randol officiating, assisted by Pastor Zac Hawkins. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ellis was born March 22, 1980 to John Clifton and Joan Ann (Brown) Ellis at Ada, OK and passed away January 8, 2021 at Ada, OK at the age of 40 years, 9 months and 17 days. He graduated from Tupelo High School in 1998 and was about to graduate from the University of Phoenix with a degree in Criminal Justice. Jamie was an officer with the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center Security. He was the Tupelo Police Chief for 10 years, was a reserve deputy for the Coal County Sheriff’s office and served as a volunteer fire fighter for Union Valley Fire Department for 9 years. Jamie was married to Christina Lynn Fish and was a member of the Tupelo Baptist Church. His hobbies were shooting guns, working with his hands and golfing. He loved his truck.

Survivors include his wife, Christina Lynn (Fish) Ellis of the home in Tupelo; son, Jaxon Ellis of the home in Tupelo; mother, JoAnn Ellis of Tupelo; father, Cliff Ellis of Stonewall, OK; stepson, Reese Hamilton of Byng, OK; sister, Johnna Walker and husband Darrell of Ada, OK; brothers, John Ellis and wife Carmen of Ada and Jeremy Ellis of Tupelo, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear and loved friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother (Mom), Myrtle Brown; grandfather, John Henry Ellis; grandmother, Patsy Horton and Aunt, Nadine Ashley.

Casketbearers will be Jarrett Ellis, Brad Fish, Chris Stinnett, Patrick Burris, Gerald Hart and Darrell Walker. Honorary bearers will be Chickasaw Nation Medical Center Security, and Chickasaw Nation Lighthorse Police Department. Condolences may be sent
