Our sympathies extended to the families of.... Lillian Faye Cagle

Funeral services for Lillian Faye (Jones) Cagle, a Coalgate resident, were held Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Cottonwood School Gymnasium with John Daniel officiating. Burial was in Byrd’s Prairie Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Cagle was born December 8, 1951 to Clyde Jack and Edith Geneva (Martin) Jones at Centrahoma, OK and passed away May 5, 2021 at Oklahoma City at the age of 69 years, 4 months and 27 days. She attended Centrahoma School and graduated from Tupelo High School. Faye attended Murray State College and East Central University where she received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education and also received her master’s degree in special education. She married Alvin Vernon Cagle February 14, 1978 in Leader, OK and they spent 43 wonderful years together.

Faye taught school at Cottonwood Public Schools from 1976 to 2004. She retired briefly and then returned to the school she loved and continued to teach. Faye dedicated 45 years of her life to education. She impacted the lives of numerous children and was known for her “old school” teaching methods. Faye was a member of the Oklahoma Educator’s Association, District 12 Choctaw Seniors, OHCE After 5, Coal County Fair Board, and was a 4-H leader for many years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, shopping, traveling and trips to the casino.

Survivors include her husband, Alvin Vernon Cagle, Jr. of their home in Coalgate; children, Jason Cagle, wife Amy and grandchildren Kaden and Briley of Morris, OK, Shane Cagle and grandchildren, Gavin and Ashton of Tupelo, OK, Chey Anne Clifft, husband Jade and grandchildren Cash, Hazin and Kynleigh of Blanco, OK and Rachel Wood, husband Jeremy and grandchildren Parker and Madison of Coalgate, OK; sisters, Nelda Osborn of Ada, OK and Ginger Lynch and husband Mike of Tupelo, OK; brothers, Billy Clyde Jones and wife Pam and Paul Jones and Amanda all of Tupelo, OK; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Jack and Edith Geneva (Martin) Jones; sister, Sue Jones and infant brother, Randy Jones. Casketbearers were Logan Lynch,

Casketbearers were Logan Lynch, Landon Lynch, Josh Lynch, Cash Clifft, Ashton Cagle, Kaden Cagle, Gavin Cagle. Honorary bearers were James Frazier, John Daniel, Ruth Newberry, Debbie Childers, Eddie Anglin, Ronnie Palmer, Georgann Looney and Jim McNutt.
