Funeral services for Phyllis Ann (Benjamin) Murphy, an Oklahoma City resident, will be held Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Service in Coalgate. Burial will be in Wardville Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Murphy was born July 6, 1938 to Sampson Simeon and Lura (Blair) Benjamin at Wardville, OK and passed away May 2, 2021 at Oklahoma City at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 26 days. She graduated from Haskell Institute now Haskell Indian Nations University. Phyllis received a Bachelor’s Degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and was a social worker. She was a Southern Baptist and enjoyed riding bicycles and playing dominoes. Phyllis loved all animals, especially cats. She liked sports and especially basketball. Phyllis was a square dancer.

Survivors include sons, Sammy Dean Brook and wife Rachel of Greenville, NC, Buddy Brian Brook and wife Sharon of Florence, AL, Victor Nils Brook and wife Kathy of Houston, TX; daughter, Ruby Renee Murphy of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Adam Brook and Amanda Brooks, Alan Brook and wife Tara all of Wilmington, NC, Sydney Blair Brook of Florence, AL, Hunter Brook, Audrey Brook, Olivia Brook, Averie Brook all of Houston, TX, BJ Brewer and wife Jenna of Florence, AL; great-grandchildren, Walker Brewer, Liza Leigh Brewer, Abbey Brewer,all of Florence, AL, Addison Brook, Caleb Brook, both of Wilmington, NC; along with numerous nieces, nephews ad many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parent; son, Stacy Murphy; sisters, Ruby Williams and Lillian Benjamin and brother, Buddy Blair Benjamin. Honorary casketbearers will be Adam Brook, Alan Brook, Hunter Brook, BJ Brewer, Sydney Brook, Audrey Brook, Olivia Brook and Averie Brook.
