Ruthell “Ruth” (Swindell) Gibbins, a Coalgate resident, passed away March 1, 2024 at Ada, OK at the age of 84 years, 6 months and 26 days. She was born August 4, 1939 to Luther Cecil and Matilda “Tillie” (Hill) Swindell at Idabel, OK. Mrs. Gibbins attended school at Farris, OK and was a homemaker. She married Cecil Ray Gibbins July 17, 1956 at Atoka, OK. Ruthell was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Coalgate. She owned and operated the Chuck Wagon Cafe. Ruth was known for her chocolate and coconut pies.

Survivors include her husband, Cecil Ray Gibbins of the home in Coalgate; children, Leslie Gibbins of McAlester, OK, Sherry Hilderbrand of North Richland Hills, TX, Glenda Devoll and husband James of Grand Prairie, TX and Rochelle Sightler of Coalgate; grandchildren, Christopher, Mark, Nicole, Dustin, Michael, Brian, Rachel, Amanda, Megan and Lauren; numerous greatg randchildren; brother, Luther Cecil Swindell, Jr. and wife Bertha of Fayetteville, AR. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Cecil and Tillie (Hill) Swindell; siblings, Juanita Stiles, William Franklin, Ellis Franklin, Ellen Franklin, Martha Weakley, Dovie Barger and Clovis Swindell.

Family will have a service at a later date.
