Funeral services for Myrtle Louella (Compton) Reed, a Centrahoma resident, will be held Friday, November 1, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Bro. David Daffern officiating, assisted by Bro. David Boggs. Family night will be Thursday evening, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in Centrahoma Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Reed was born December 29, 1939 to Ralph Sanford and Annie Bell (Owens) Compton at Atoka, OK and passed away October 27, 2019 at Centrahoma at the age of 79 years, 9 months and 28 days. She married James Howard Reed March 8, 1956 in California and was a housewife. Her husband preceded her in death in 1984. Myrtle was a member of the Holiness Church and enjoyed flowers, country and western shows, sewing, cooking, baking and spending time with her family.

Survivors include daughters, Ella Mae Reed of Centrahoma, Ruby Tate of Norman, OK and Linda Daffern and husband Gary of Centrahoma; sons, Vincent Reed and wife Heidi of Centrahoma and Ricky Reed of Norman; eighteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Annie Bell Carrell of Tupelo; along with nieces, nephews and dearly loved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, James Reed, Teddy Reed, Ricky Reed, and Mark Reed; brothers, Willie Compton, Roy Compton, Ray Compton, Ralph Compton and Johnny Compton; sisters, Lela Jones, Pearl Tisdale, Pat McCants, Mary Smith, Kathy Bateman and Lola Daffern.

Casketbearers will be Josh Reed, Michael Potts, Jimmy Potts, Ricky Reed, Vincent Reed and Ethan Adams. Honorary bearers will be Mark Reed and Dakota Ingram.
