Service held for Alfred Howard Riley

Funeral services for Alfred Howard Riley, an Olney resident, were held Monday, August 17, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Bro. Keith McIntyre officiating. Burial was in Riley Cemetery in Olney with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Riley was born December 21, 1934 to Andy Lee and Etta Vene (Hand) Riley and passed away August 12, 2020 at Olney, OK at the age of 85 years, 7 months and 22 days. He attended Olney School and later obtained his GED. Alfred married Clover Hampton May 14, 1955 in Ada, OK. She preceded him in death August 2, 2020. Alfred was a carpenter and built the Olney Baptist Church where he was a longtime member and played the piano there for many years. He enjoyed music, fishing, hunting, and noodling when he was a young man. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his family.

Survivors include his children, Arlene (Riley) Stiles of Atoka, Carey Dean Riley and wife Alice of Noble, OK, Alfred Leon Riley, Jim Nelson Riley and wife Mary all of Olney; grandchildren, Shavon Gayle (Riley) Beam and husband Chris of Olney, Shawn Allen Riley of Choctaw, OK, Jaymin Riley, Jaydin Riley and wife Miranda all of Ada, OK, Jaycen Riley and wife Kylena of Coalgate, Jaylee Riley of Oklahoma City, and Miranda (Stiles) Johnson and husband Sterling of Durant, OK; great-grandchildren, Dominic and Divinity Johnson, Hailey and Judson Riley, Justice and Rylee Beam, Kamber Riley, Reed Riley; sister, Evelyn McKinney of Snyder, OK; sister-in-law, LyVern Riley of Blevins, AR; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andy Lee and Etta Vene (Hand) Riley; wife, Clover (Hampton) Riley; brothers, Ira Lee Riley, Elzie Riley, Tommy Riley, Andy Lee Riley, Jr. and Allen Riley; sister, Ruby Fullbright; and son-in-law, Jerry Stiles.

Casketbearers were Paul Riley, Jerry Riley, Jimmy Riley, Jimmy Ray Riley, Arnem Hunt and Chris Beam. Honorary bearers were John Hampton, Ralph Ybarra, Dustin Ybarra, Sterling Johnson, Scott Beam, Ricky Riley, and Edward.
