Service held for Cecile “Delloise” Armstrong

Funeral service for Cecile “Delloise” Armstrong, a Lehigh resident since 2005, was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 29, 2024 at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Atoka with Rev. Ken Brown officiating. Burial was in Green Meadows Cemetery in Atoka with Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Armstrong was born April 10, 1928 to Ernest Berne and Bernice (Phelps) Schorsch at Lacon, IL and passed away January 22, 2024 at her home in Lehigh, OK at the age of 95 years, 9 months and 12 days. She attended school in Sandwich, IL and married Stanley Brimicombe June 30, 1951 at Wheaton, IL. He preceded her in death and she later married Sherman Armstrong September 4, 2005 at Collinsville, OK. He preceded her in death February 20, 2015. Delloise was a telephone operator for Illinois Bell Telephone Company in Illinois and for Pac Bell in Southern California. She was a member of the Nazarene Church in Coalgate and was a Lady’s Eagle member. Delloise enjoyed crafting, quilting, liquid embroidery, knitting, sewing, ceramics, plastic works, playing cribbage and being with her family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Bonita Martin-Price and husband Don of Lehigh, OK, Christine Mizuharaandhusband Rick of Julian, CA, Terry Brimicombe and wife Elizabeth of Collinsville, OK; grandchildren, John Mizuhara of Paso Pables, CA, Rose Mizuhara Maynard and husband Johnny of Irvine, CA, Brandon Mizuhara and wife Gianna in Guam with the military; greatgranddaughter, Talia Mizuhara; sister, Idalia Harrington and husband Bill of Collinsville, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Berne and Bernice (Phelps) Schorsch; husbands, Stanley Brimicombe and Sherman Armstrong; brothers, Ernest, Harry, Berne Lee Schorsch; and sister, Charlotte Zirkle.
