Service held for Clendon Joe Self

Funeral services for Clendon Joe Self, a lifelong Redden area resident, were held Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at McGee Valley Baptist Church in Stringtown, OK with Rev. Bob Muncey and Rev. Phil Tallman officiating. Burial was in Redden Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Self was born August 8, 1962 to William Nathan and Virginia Ann (Woody) Self at Atoka, OK and passed away January 1, 2019 at Ft. Smith, AR at the age of 56 years, 4 months and 24 days. He

attended and graduated from String-town Public School, attended Kiamichi Vo-Tech at McAlester where he studied Drafting and Design and CADD. He received an award for excellence in the field and received credits from OSU. Clendon was named as honorary FFA chapter member in the String-town Chapter. He was a truck driver for Nashville Trucking and numerous others. Clendon was a member of Mc-Gee Valley Baptist Church, sang in the choir and loved his church family. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved his nephews and nieces.

Survivors include his mother, Virginia Ann (Woody) Self of Stringtown, OK; sister, Carol Ann Doose of Atoka; brother, Claude Self and wife Denise of Stringtown; nieces and nephews, Amy Frazin and husband Jason of Richardson, TX, Wesley Self and wife Sara of Pittsburg, OK, Cheryl Doose of Lake Tahoe, CA, Venesa Webb and husband Brian of Tushka, OK, Brittany Cole and husband Adam of Coalgate, OK; great-nieces and nephews, Skylar Self, Lucus Self, Keria Self, Rowdy Self, Harper Frazin, Jack Frazin, Ariana Frazin, Trevor Mosqueda, Elizabith Doose, Karma Doose, Kylee Webb, Elijah Webb, Alexa Jaurique, Gunner Webb, and Parker Cole; longtime best friend, Brock Parton of Glenwood, AR; along with other relatives and many dear and loved friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Nathan Self and sister, Connie Ann Self.

Casketbearers were Wesley Self, Brian Webb, Lucus Self, Trevor Mosqueda, Mike Mosqueda, Jason Frazin, Own Kellogg, and Adam Cole. Honorary bearers were Sunday School Class Members, Robby Isom, Lebert Trammell, Carolyn Miller, Glen Wyrick, Kathy Anderson, Clay Wyrick, Ira Wood, Chris Kellogg, Hannah Wood, Janie Kellogg, Susan Isom, Rick Hensley and Rick Isom.
