Service held for Dicky Gene Rose

Graveside services for Dicky Gene Rose, a Stonewall resident, were held Friday, August 9, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Kiowa Cemetery in Kiowa, OK with Bro. Joey Lansdale officiating. Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Rose was born July 20, 1936 to Robert Eugene and Vivian Lucille (Sweeten) Rose at Chickasaw, OK and passed away August 5, 2019 at Stonewall at the age of 83 years and 16 days. He attended Pittsburg schools and married Phyllis JoAnn Townley on September 28, 1962 at Coalgate, OK. Dicky was a welder in the oil field.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis JoAnn (Townley) Rose of Stonewall; son, Tommy Rose and wife Alison of McKinney, TX; daughters, LaDonna Battles of Waco, TX and Kimberly Rose of Stonewall, OK; grandchildren, Brandon Battles of Kiowa, OK, Allison Schnizer and husband Andy of Waco, TX, Hagen Rose and wife Sydney of McKinney, TX, Garrett Rose and wife, Kaitlyn of Bells, TX, Madison Rose and fiance’ Rhett Brooks of McKinney, TX, Penelope Boyd of Waco, TX; ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Stowers of Sherman, TX, Lola Newman and husband, Otis of Wapanucka, OK, Sharon Chestnut of Pittsburg, OK along with many dearly loved family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Herbert Allen, Jr. and sister, Mary Lou Mitchell.

Casketbearers were Tommy Rose, Hagen Rose, Garrett Rose, Andy Schnizer, Rhett Brooks, and Brandon Battles.
