Service held for Donald James Darling

Graveside services for Donald James Darling, an Atoka resident, were held Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Coalgate Cemetery with Bro. Claude Lovett officiating. Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate was in charge of arrangements.

Donald was born March 2, 1962 to Morris James and Neola Fern (Lynch) Darling at Antlers, OK and passed away February 15, 2021 at McAlester, OK at the age of 58 years, 11 months and 13 days. He attended Coalgate High school and was in the US Army from 1980-1983. Donald was a Laborer for Linam’s Guttering and M & S Guttering. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing dominoes and listening to music.

Survivors include his sisters, Dora Leuty of Atoka, Debra Lamb of Madill, Mary Sue Powell of Tishomingo and Marcella Hooko of Ada; girlfriend, Darla Langley of Centerpoint, OK; twelve nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris James and Neola Fern (Lynch) Darling; sisters, Nancy Lister and Rebecca Darling; and brother, Robert Keith Darling.
