Service held for James Otis Price
Funeral services for James Otis Price, a longtime Coalgate resident, were held Friday, October 11, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Pastor David Unsell officiating. Burial was in Centrahoma Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate.
James was born July 17, 1941 to Otis and Evalyn Haseltine (Holt) Price at Centrahoma, OK and passed away October 8, 2019 at Coalgate at the age of 78 years, 2 months and 21 days. He attended and graduated from Centrahoma High School in 1959 and married Bette Batchelor on August 30, 1961 in Centrahoma. They were happily married for 58 years. James worked and retired from the Civl Service. He owned and operated Price’s Boot Shop for 48 years. James was a Lifetime Member of the Coalgate Masonic Lodge. He loved camping, especially at Sardis Lake with friends and also at McGee Creek with family.
Survivors include his wife Bette (Batchelor) Price of the home; great granddaughter, Papa’s Little Dove, Kamber Riley of the home; three sons, Rusty Price and wife Audra of Coal-gate, Andy Price and wife Amy of Atoka, and Chris Price and wife Tammie of Hobbs, NM; one daughter, Jamie Cunningham and husband Roger of OKC; eleven grandchildren, Andrew Price and wife Kacee of Sand Springs, OK, Jared Price and wife Terri of Coalgate, Cheyenne Blue and husband Berney of Lehigh, Tanner Price of Coalgate, Jaymin Riley and Megan Weeks of Ada, Levi Price and wife Jalyn of Comanche OK, Jaydin Riley and wife Miranda of Ada, Jaylee Riley of OKC, Luke Price and wife Maggie of Duncan, OK, Jaycen Price Riley and wife Kylena of Coalgate, and Jaynie Allison of Stillwater, OK; bonus grandchildren, Kyrstan Cagle and husband David of Durant, OK, and Tara Flint of Coalgate; great-grandchildren, Cantan Price of Coalgate, Camryn Price, Drew Price, both of Sand Springs, OK, Asher Blue of Lehigh, Blayne Dutton, Trayle Flint and Madyson Flint, all of Coal-gate; great-grandchildren in the oven, Hadlee Price of Comanche, OK and Reed James Riley of Ada, OK; along with many dear and loved friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis Samuel and Evalyn Haseltine (Holt) Price; sister, Mary Flint; and infant brother Price.
Casketbearers were Bob Strunk, Randy Elkins, Steve Cody, Bob Cody, Kevin Guinn and Roy Deck. Honorary bearers were Louis John Sandmann, Jim Cox, Bill Langdon and Floyd Gibson.
