Service held for Juanita Calvert

Graveside services for Juanita (Marchand) Calvert, a Lehigh resident, were held Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Lehigh Cemetery with Pastor Joey Lansdale officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate.

Mrs. Calvert was born October 13, 1917 to Charles and Mary Iva (Ford) Marchand a Lehigh, OK and passed away December 4, 2019 at Coalgate at the age of 102 years, 1 month and 21 days. She attended Prairie Grove and Lehigh Schools and married Ellis Calvert on March 27, 1935. He preceded her in death on September 14, 1963. Mrs. Calvert was a Nurse at Atoka Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1983 after 35 years of service. She was a member of the Lehigh Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, quilting and playing baseball with her great-great-grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Charles Calvert and wife Dolores of Lehigh; grandchildren, Kenneth Paul Calvert and Mary, Boyd Calvert, Stacy Layton, Sally Finch and husband Chuck, all of Lehigh and Mark Hefley and wife Joyce of Clarita, OK; seven great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great- grandchildren; sister, Nadine (Pete) Harris of Enid, OK, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear and loved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Patricia Ellis (Calvert) Hefley and husband Bill; son, Paul Edward Calvert and wife Wanda (Townsend) Calvert; sisters, Beatrice (Marchand) Fenoglio, Mary “Doodle” (Marchand) Bowers and husband Frank, Geraldine (Marchand) Miller and husband Irving, Melissa Beth (Marchand) Harris and husband Bonnie; and granddaughter, Vikki Calvert.

Casketbearers were great-grandsons, Seth Layton, Tagus Horton, Ty Pate, Cooper Pate, Tyler Hefley, and Ryan Hefley.
