Service held for Laura Josephine Kraft

Funeral services for Laura Josephine (Nowlin) Kraft, a longtime Coalgate resident, were held Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Mr. Ray Eastridge officiating. Burial was in Butler Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Kraft was born March 11, 1930 to T. B. and Geneva Lucile (Reel) Nowlin at Lane, OK and passed away January 17, 2020 at Atoka, OK at the age of 89 years, 10 months and 6 days. She attended DOK school and married Walter Robert Kraft on June 22, 1953. He preceded her in death June 18, 1989. Laura was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist church. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and was known for her tomatoes.

Survivors include her children, Raymond White and wife Judy of Oklahoma City, Linda Moak and husband Gerald of Etna, CA, Alice Willis and husband Herbert of Mt. Shasta, CA, Diana Moore of Hutchinson, KS and Barbara Kraft of Moore, OK; grandson, Nathan Kraft of Coalgate; other grandchildren, Mariah Powers of Pittsburg, PA, Jonathan Hamilton of Port Orchard, WA, Lori Mae of Sulphur Springs, TX, Chris Ann Moore of Hutchinson, KS, Jennifer Allen of Yukon, OK and Justin Malzer of Oklahoma City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Robert Kraft; brothers, Herbert Nowlin and William Nowlin; and sisters, Bernice Sarina, Christine Adamo, and Pearl Jones.

Casketbearers were Mark Jackson, Daniel Pebworth, Chief Roebuck, Lee Munn, David Durant, and Brian Keith Palmer. Honorary bearers were Mike Ihrig and David Logue.
