Service held for Lavon Daniel

Funeral services for Lavon (Bolin) Daniel, a longtime Atoka resident were held Monday, December 16, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Atoka with Rev. Daniel Ramey officiating. Burial was in the Rosehill Cemetery in Wapanucka, OK with arrangements under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka.

Mrs. Daniel was raised in the Wapanucka area, lived in Hugo for several years and then moved back to Tushka area in 2000 to live on the home place.

Mrs. Daniel was born February 7, 1939 to John Irvin and Evie Beatrice (Rhea) Bolin at Wapanucka and passed away December 12, 2019 at Atoka a the age of 80 years, 10 months an 5 days. She graduated from Wapanucka High School as Valedictorian. Lavon married Bobby Gene Daniel July 5, 1963 at Atoka and they celebrated 53 years of marriage before his passing on January 3, 2016. Lavon was a housewife and homemaker and worked at Atoka State Bank, numerous sale barns, (Hugo, Antlers and Atoka) and many years in the family business, Daniel Express Lube. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women’s Group, sang in the choir, loved cooking, was an accomplished seamstress, loved watching her grandchildren play basketball and enjoyed raising a garden.

Survivors include her sons, Brent Daniel and wife Ruthann of Tushka and Mike Daniel and wife Shelly of Atoka; grandchildren, Dale Daniel and fiance, Shannon Williams of Stillwater, OK, Logan Daniel and wife Aja of Atoka, Bob Daniel of Tushka, Sunni Miller and husband Tanner of Durant, Wyatt Daniel and Alex Daniel, both of the home in Atoka; great-grandchildren, Julie Daniel of Stillwater, Lyla Daniel, Rory Daniel, both of Atoka and Evie Miller of Durant; sisters-in-law, Sue Bolin of Atoka and Nellie Bolin of Clarita, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear and loved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, John, Herschel, Ray, Pete, and Thurman Bolin; and sister Neoma McGlocklin and husband James.

Casketbearers were grandchildren, Dale Daniel, Logan Daniel, Bob Daniel, Wyatt Daniel, Sunni Miller and Alex Daniel. Honorary casketbearers were Shelly Daniel, Ruthann Daniel, Carolyn Miller, Sue Sartin, Tresa Walker, and Sue Bolin.
