Service held for LuCretia Thompson

Funeral services to honor and celebrate the life of LuCretia Thompson were held at 2:00 p.m. May 2, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church in Clarita, OK. Interment followed in the Moore Cemetery in Clarita.

LuCretia Ann Thompson, age 77, passed away in the comfort of her own home in Bromide OK on April 27, 2019. LuCretia was born January 16, 1942 in Coal-gate, OK to Lewis and Lola (Renegar) Thompson.

She graduated from Bromide High School in 1959 and went on to attend Southeastern Oklahoma State University before beginning her working career at the First State Bank in Dallas, TX in the 1960’s. She then moved back to Bromide in 1970 to raise her daughter, Annell.

LuCretia spent the rest of her career working for the United States Postal service for over 40 years in Bromide and Connerville. She loved spending her free time watching western movies, reading books, and raising her dogs and cats.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Lola Thompson and her stepfather, Charley Renegar.

Those she leaves to cherish her memories include her daughter, Christina Annell Thompson of Bromide; four brothers, Fred Thompson and wife Nancy of OKC, Phillip Thompson of Ft. Worth, TX, Frank Thompson of Lehigh, OK and Clay Thompson of Ada, OK; a sister, Betty Collins and husband Edgar of Coal-gate; three nephews, James Collins and wife Sherry of Bromide, Robert Thompson of OKC, and Charles Standifer of Milburn, OK; a niece, Rebecca Collins of Coalgate; a friend, Carolyn Williams of Bromide; and a host of other relatives and friends who will deeply miss her.

Services were under the direction of DeArman-Clark Funeral Home in Tishomingo.
