Service held for Mary Etta Glass

Funeral services for Mary Etta (Brat-ton) Glass, a Coalgate resident, were held Saturday, February 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Dewayne Pebworth officiating, assisted by Gene Jordan. Burial was in Lehigh Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Glass was born May 14, 1931 to B & Ada Idebell (Oxford) Bratton and passed away February 13, 2019 at Coalgate at the age of 87 years, 8 months and 30 days. She attended and graduated from Coalgate High School. Mary Etta married George Dewey Glass, Jr. on December 26, 1952 and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Lehigh Baptist Church and enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking, reading, embroidering, working cattle and puzzles.

Survivors include her husband, George Dewey Glass, Jr. of the home; son, Glenn Glass and wife, Vanessa of Coalgate; granddaughters, Kara Byrd and husband Andy of Durant, Kandace Madden of Coalgate and the late Heath Farris; grandsons, Brandon Madden and wife Seger of Coalgate, Thomas Madden and wife Aspen of Edmond; great-grandchildren, Raeliegh Madden, Ayden Allen, River Allen, Brick Madden, Rocksie Farris, Bryce Madden and Krete Byrd.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Doyle Bratton; and sisters, Dorothy Williams and Betty Mason Furr.

Casketbearers were Alvin Pebworth, Ray Pebworth, Dewayne Pebworth, Bob Burns, Gene Jordan and Ray Jordan. Honorary bearers were Brandon Madden, Thomas Madden and Andy Byrd.
