Service held for Thelma Lois Pugh

Funeral services for Thelma Lois Pugh, a Coalgate resident, were held Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Pastor Eddie Hogue officiating. Burial was in Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas, TX with Brown’s Funeral Service in charge of arrangements. Family night was October 21, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Mrs. Pugh was born December 15, 1936 to James “Jim” Columbus and Cleo Agnes (Cantrell) Ables at Shady Grove, OK and passed away October 12, 2022 at her home in Coalgate, OK at the age of 85 years, 9 months and 27 days. She graduated from Olney High School and was a cable former for AT&T. Thelma married Bobbie Dean Pugh December 15, 1954 at Durant, OK. He preceded her in death in 1988. She later married Wilburn Lee Edward at Las Vegas and he preceded her in death in 2003. Thelma attended Cottonwood Baptist Church and was a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and going to yard sales. She loved her animals and spending time with her family.

Survivors include a daughter, Jean Posey and husband Billy of Balch Springs, TX; son, Robert Pugh of Coalgate, OK; grandchildren, Billy Allen Posey and wife Lisa of Crandall, TX, Kenith Jason Posey of Dallas, TX, Dawn Pugh and partner Tim Gujda of Coalgate, Karen Pugh and husband JoDean Spears of Lehigh, OK; greatgrandchildren, Chelsey Posey, Dawson Posey, Bryce Posey, Kassandra Amiott, Brandon Fort, Alyssa Posey, Chris Fort, Dylan Fort and Ethan Fort; great-great-grandchildren, Ava Cortez, Colton Cortez, Modecai Posey; sister, Margaret Renfro and husband Buster of Kenefic, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dearly loved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James “Jim” and Cleo Agnes (Cantrell) Ables; husbands, Bobbie Dean Pugh and Wilburn Lee Edward; siblings, Therman Ables, Loie Ables, Berta Baxter, and A. J. Ables; sister-in-law, Vera Ables.

Casketbearers were Brandon Fort, Chris Fort, Dylan Fort, Ethan Fort, Dawson Posey and Bryce Posey; honorary bearers was JoDean Spears, Billy Posey, Jason Posey, Timothy Gujda, Dewayne Bond, and George Riter.
